Telemarketers Are Evil

They really are. Perhaps not the individuals working the phones, they’re just regular folks doing a job trying to earn a living, however the companies that they work for are indeed evil.

A good example is a call that I get anywhere from two to ten times per week. Often several of them a day. I answer the phone and a pre-recorded message informs me that this is my last opportunity to get lower interest on my credit card.

Most of the time I simply hang up the second I recognize the message but once in a while I try to reach a human being so that I can ask to be put on their do not call list. When they ask why I tell them that I don’t even have a credit card and therefore their calls to me are wasted. That’s when the person on the other end, usually speaking in broken English with a thick, hard to understand, accent informs me that “You have a credit card, it says so right here” and more often than not, hangs up on me.

What I’d like to know is just exactly how do I get “Card Services” to stop calling me with this crap. Even if I had a credit card I would **NEVER** do business with them after the way they’ve been harassing me for the last year or more.

Oh, and for the record, this kind of company ignores the “national do not call list”. That list, like the “can spam act”, is a total joke.
