I call it a "so-called" recession because that's not really what it is. It's a full on depression. One that when the dust settles and historians dig out the truth, is going to look every bit as bad to future generations as the Great Depression of the 1930's looks to us.
The problem is that politicians are driving themselves silly trying to put the best possible face on this nightmare instead of actually doing anything constructive about it.
They're all worried about how this thing is going to look on their records and how it's going to affect their chance of re-election that it's all just a big PR campaign to them. Meanwhile the rest of us are busy making funeral arrangements for the hopes that we had of doing things like getting out of debt and having a fair shot at the American dream. We know that unless there are major changes and the government stops spending money faster than they can print it that we will soon all be doomed to scraping pennies just to survive.
And no, I'm not exaggerating one bit.
