As recently as six or eight months ago the debt collectors, while pushy to the extreme, weren’t nearly as overbearing and “pay me NOW at any cost” as they are today.

In last week’s post I said that another two contestants would be cut. As it turns out, they only cut one in spite of the fact that I and my wife both distinctly heard them say that there would be two more contestants cut and we’d be down to the final four. In fact, the program guide on our cable system said the same thing in the synopsis for this week’s show. Why things didn’t work out that way I don’t know.

Anheuser-Busch Fighting Takeover

Anheuser-Busch, maker of Budwiser products has recently come under attack. A foreign company, the begian brewer InBev has now made several offers to buy the American brewery. InBev offered $65 a share, which Anheuser-Busch flatly turned down. Now it’s apparently round two as InBev has offered $70 a share.
