Keyword Effectiveness Indicator
July 9th, 2008 | Posted in Advertising, Keywords, SEO |The Keyword Effectiveness Indicator score is the ratio of keyword popularity (number of searches) to competitiveness (number of matching pages)
To Calculate the KEI, you divide the number of searches for a keyword by the number of matching pages. A higher KEI means that your keywords are more popular and have less competition.
The KEI score is only a rough indicator of a good search term to target but KEI, along with other keyword research tools can give you a good idea of what keywords to target.
