Anyone who wants to do business on the Internet should first take time to study what others are doing. That’s because following a proven blueprint, one that’s working for others can be a good way to get started until you being to learn the ropes. How do you do that? One way is to buy a load of digital books and sit there reading them and end up doing nothing because it seems like everybody’s got six different kinds of advice and mostly all they want to do is yack about how great their system is without telling you something significant.

The trick is to guide them as they move down the successively narrower parts of the pyramid until they reach the end point where you make the sale. Along the way more and more of these people drop out of the process. The pyramid gets narrower and narrower as it reaches the sales point.

What do I mean by that title? Simply that there’s all kinds of sources of web traffic and while some of them can easily produce a greater number of visitors, it’s easily arguable that the best traffic is the visits that come directly from the search engines.

Ideally, you want to optimize any one article or page for one particular keyword or phrase. If other related keywords are used that’s fine but you want to make sure the page is focused on the one keyword / phrase that you’re working with.
