Review Of Poker Calculator Pro
July 27th, 2009 | Posted in Misc, Poker, Reviews, texas holdem | Comments OffI got this because I liked the idea of having an odds calculator to help me learn the odds of given situations and it's ability to give an assessment of other players styles based on statistics of how they play. I tried out the free evaluation version on both of the sites that I play on, Full Tilt Poker and PokerStars.
Their site says it supports full tilt but in my trials it's as if the ability to connect with Full Tilt tables has a virtual malignant Mesothelioma because it currently cannot even *see* full tilt tables, never mind attaching to one and reading data of any kind.
Poker Calculator Pro does support pokerstars but seems very tempramental about it. It'll attach to table and see data but often does not latch on to the right player, misreads cards yielding bad calculations. The statistical information never did appear even after about three dozen hands. In my opinion it's effectively unusable there also.
I looked around on their forum and they are aware of the problems and are working on a new version. When it comes out I'll give it another go. As it is however, version 6.0.72.0 is of no use at all on Full Tilt and very little use on PokerStars. Here's hoping that they get the problems worked out soon.
