Private Salvage Yard?

Because of living in a rural area we often get to see sights that are the kind of thing you almost never get to see in the city. There’s the wildlife. Not only squirrels, birds & so on but deer. In the morning and evening hours I often see deer either in my yard or in one of the neighbors yards. One time several years ago I counted 14 deer, four full grown females a buck and 9 young, all grazing in my front yard one morning at about 6:30am.

Of course, not all of the sights we get treated to are so great. My brother’s got some people down the road from him that are apparently starting a private salvage yard. At least that’s what it looks like. They live in the county but outside the city proper, on a dirt road just a little way off of the main road that goes through here. Their yard is full of all kinds of junk from old furniture and kid’s broken down riding toys to not less than ten (and sometimes more) automobiles in various states of disrepair, most of them looking like they’ve just come from some pretty bad accidents.

They’ve also got this nasty, rude, habit of stopping their working truck opposite another vehicle in the middle of what is really a one lane road and having conversations, not being at all concerned that there’s others that live on that road who need to get by a lot faster than these folks appear to be willing to get their crap out of the way.

How often do you see THAT in the city?
