Shopping Time Approaches

Now I know what you’re thinking… ‘of course shopping time approaches, it’s almost Black Friday’ but that’s not what I’m talking about. True, millions of people are getting geared up to fight the crowds and try to make the best of one of the biggest sales days of the year, I however am staying home on that day.

The shopping that I’m talking about is on a much smaller scale than that. You see, now that I am finally seeing some success with my efforts to lose weight, I’ve started reaching the point where a lot of my clothes don’t fit anymore. Everything fit just fine when my weight was over 340 pounds but now that I’m 20 pounds under that mark I have already started to notice that about 30% of my clothes are very loose. In fact, I’ve got several pairs of sweats and shorts that, unless I keep one hand on the waistband as I’m walking, they’ll fall right off!

So, rather than continue to risk embarrassing moments like that, I need to set aside some time as soon as the big rush is over to do something I haven’t done in years, go shopping for men’s clothing and start buying some things that, for once, are smaller than like a size 52 jeans!

The trick is going to be not buying a whole lot at one time because I plan to continue losing weight and that means that my size will continue to shrink and I don’t want to be stuck with any more 4X large stuff than I absolutely need to. The time for the big shopping spree will be when I can once again fit into an old pair of size 38 jeans that I’ve got put away somewhere. I haven’t been able to wear them for something like six years. Back then my weight was around 220 pounds or so. Being able to wear those again will mean that I’m actually getting close to my goal of 200 pounds.
