Merchandising Thoughts

Now that I’m a youtube partner, I’m already starting to think ahead, specifically to the point where I can start doing some merchandising. You see, one of the things that many partners do is sell merchandise such as t-shirts, caps & so on that have their channel name and or logo on them. It helps make their channel more visible and also nets a little more cash.

I was thinking that perhaps I might do something like that but also add in one more thing that’s different from the rest. Tinfoil Cowboy Hats. This is because one of my trademark things is to wear a tinfoil cowboy hat whenever I do a cooking video. My avatar picture shows me wearing it, and that picture also appears in my channel banner.

So far as I know, I’m the only one using that particular gimmick. The only downside is that I don’t think I can find anyplace that makes them like that which means I would have to make each one of them myself. Granted, it only took me about ten minutes to make the one that I use but suppose I get hit with a thousand orders for ‘em? I wouldn’t have time to make videos if I had to make that many hats!

I Still think it’s a great idea, the trouble is finding a way to make it practical to do.
