The Voyeur Factor

January 7th, 2011 | Posted in Blogging, building traffic, Entertainment, video, Youtube | Comments Off

In an effort to increase the number of people that watch my videos as well as the number that are willing to hit the “Like” button on youtube, I have decided to try taking a page from the likes of Shaytards and Phamdamily and try doing longer, more involved Vlogs that cover a lot more of my real life.

Of course I do have a disadvantage in that I don’t have a hot wife or any cute kids which is one of the big attractions for those channels. However I’ve noticed that even without those things, most people seem to have rather quite a bit of voyeur in them. They like to watch other people’s lives, even if that life isn’t the most exciting in the world.

So, I’ve decided to step way outside of my comfort zone and give this a try. I made it a point to ask people to hit Like if they thought I should continue making more of them. This first video has gotten 18 Likes in the first hundred views. It may not sound like much but that is a phenomenal response rate. Normally I get one or two Likes per couple hundred views. 18 in just under one hundred is practically a mandate.

Therefore given this amazing response to the first of these videos that I uploaded last Sunday, I’m definitely going ahead with it.

Here’s that first video. Please click “Like” on it. Thanks!
